Often when it comes to survival situations, we discuss the importance or lack of importance of tools and equipment. After all, skills and knowledge can get you a lot further than tools, so it becomes a point of debate. However, I can say with certainty that I believe survival does not require much gear, and it shouldn't be so heavily relied on.
Yet, thing is tools still really help us, so not many people are willing to give that up. Despite benefits like less costs and less weight to carry, many people still take lots of equipment with them. Everyone has their own reasons, from fear of things going wrong to simply doubt that you can't do it without tools.
Obviously, those are some legitimate concerns. And with people (like myself) constantly preaching about using less equipment, it can be conflicting to follow the faith you put in your gear, or trying to utilize less. Luckily, there's a way to put all of these worries to rest.
